Novena and prayer to Saint Peregrine Laziosi

Saint Peregrine Laziosi is the popular Patron Saint of Cancer Patients and for healing of cancer.

Opening prayer: (For every day)
"God the Father, Almighty, we ask you, through the intercession of St. Pilgrim, to help us in the treatment of cancer and to avoid it. You heal us and help us also through the doctors, nurses, medicines and treatments. The suffering has entered in the world because of the sin which we all have. Therefore, we ask for your forgiveness. All that you allow is for the sanctification of our souls. You know what is best and when is the best. You know everything. We know nothing. We deliver you everything. Heal, or at least alleviates the cancer of ... (say the name) and of all the sick people of the whole world. We are in your hands. You are a Father who never abandons any of the children. In the most difficult times, you are even closer to us and carry every sick in your arms with infinite tenderness. Our Lady of Health, Comforter of the Afflicted, comfort us with your presence. Holy Guardian Angel, protect us and accompany us at all times. Amen."

First day: (James 1, 2-12) "My brethren, count it all joy, when you shall fall into divers temptations. Knowing that the trying of your faith worketh patience. And patience hath a perfect work; that you may be perfect and entire, failing in nothing. But if any of you want wisdom, let him ask of God, who giveth to all men abundantly, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea, which is moved and carried about by the wind. Therefore let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord. A double minded man is inconstant in all his ways. But let the brother of low condition glory in his exaltation: And the rich, in his being low; because as the flower of the grass shall he pass away. For the sun rose with a burning heat, and parched the grass, and the flower thereof fell off, and the beauty of the shape thereof perished: so also shall the rich man fade away in his ways. Blessed is the man that endureth temptation; for when he hath been proved, he shall receive a crown of life, which God hath promised to them that love him."

Final prayer to Saint Pilgrim: (For every day)
"Glorious Saint Pilgrim, teach us to follow your example of patience, strength and courage in the cancer that you also had. We unite our sufferings to the Sorrows of Jesus Crucified for our sins. Do not let us despair nor sadden. All suffering in this world is transitoire. The most important thing is the healing of our hearts and salvation of our souls. Increase our faith, hope and charity for others. Pray for the sick around the world and reach us the healing, or at least relief in the treatment of cancer. Hear the prayers that we do with confidence for... (say the name). Saint Peregrine, pray for us!"
Pray 1 Our Father, 1 Hail Mary and Glory.

Second day: (Psalm 102, 1-13) "Bless the Lord, O my soul: and let all that is within me bless his holy name. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and never forget all he hath done for thee. Who forgiveth all thy iniquities: who healeth all thy diseases. Who redeemeth thy life from destruction: who crowneth thee with mercy and compassion. Who satisfieth thy desire with good things: thy youth shall be renewed like the eagle's. The Lord doth mercies, and judgment for all that suffer wrong. He hath made his ways known to Moses: his wills to the children of Israel. The ford is compassionate and merciful: longsuffering and plenteous in mercy. He will not always be angry: nor will he threaten for ever. He hath not dealt with us according to our sins: nor rewarded us according to our iniquities. For according to the height of the heaven above the earth: he hath strengthened his mercy towards them that fear him. As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our iniquities from us. As a father hath compassion on his children, so hath the Lord compassion on them that fear him."

Third day: (1 Peter 5, 6-11) "Be you humbled therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in the time of visitation: Casting all your care upon him, for he hath care of you. Be sober and watch: because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, goeth about seeking whom he may devour. Whom resist ye, strong in faith: knowing that the same affliction befalls your brethren who are in the world. But the God of all grace, who hath called us into his eternal glory in Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a little, will himself perfect you, and confirm you, and establish you. To him be glory and empire for ever and ever. Amen."

Fourth day: (Colossians 3, 8-17) "But now put you also all away: anger, indignation, malice, blasphemy, filthy speech out of your mouth. Lie not one to another: stripping yourselves of the old man with his deeds, And putting on the new, him who is renewed unto knowledge, according to the image of him that created him. Where there is neither Gentile nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian nor Scythian, bond nor free. But Christ is all, and in all. Put ye on therefore, as the elect of God, holy, and beloved, the bowels of mercy, benignity, humility, modesty, patience: Bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if any have a complaint against another: even as the Lord hath forgiven you, so do you also. But above all these things have charity, which is the bond of perfection: And let the peace of Christ rejoice in your hearts, wherein also you are called in one body: and be ye thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you abundantly, in all wisdom: teaching and admonishing one another in psalms, hymns, and spiritual canticles, singing in grace in your hearts to God. All whatsoever you do in word or in work, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, giving thanks to God and the Father by him."

Fifth day: (James 5, 13-20) "Is any of you sad? Let him pray. Is he cheerful in mind? Let him sing. Is any man sick among you? Let him bring in the priests of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith shall save the sick man: and the Lord shall raise him up: and if he be in sins, they shall be forgiven him. Confess therefore your sins one to another: and pray one for another, that you may be saved. For the continual prayer of a just man availeth much. Elias was a man passible like unto us: and with prayer he prayed that it might not rain upon the earth, and it rained not for three years and six months. And he prayed again: and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit. My brethren, if any of you err from the truth, and one convert him: He must know that he who causeth a sinner to be converted from the error of his way, shall save his soul from death, and shall cover a multitude of sins.”

Sixth day: (Ecclesiasticus 2, 1-11) "Son, when thou comest to the service of God, stand in justice and in fear, and prepare thy soul for temptation. Humble thy heart, and endure. Incline thy ear and receive the words of understanding. Don’t make haste in the time of clouds. Wait on God with patience: join thyself to God, and endure, that thy life may be increased in the latter end. Take all that shall be brought upon thee: and in thy sorrow endure, and in thy humiliation keep patience. For gold and silver are tried in the fire, but acceptable men in the furnace of humiliation. Believe God, and he will recover thee: and direct thy way, and trust in him. Keep his fear, and grow old therein. Ye that fear the Lord, wait for his mercy: and go not aside from him, lest ye fall. Ye that fear the Lord, believe him: and your reward shall not be made void. Ye that fear the Lord, hope in him: and mercy shall come to you for your delight. Ye that fear the Lord, love him, and your hearts shall be enlightened. My children behold the generations of men: and know ye that no one hath hoped in the Lord, and hath been confounded."

Seventh day: (Psalm 85, 6-16) "Give ear, O Lord, to my prayer: and attend to the voice of my petition. I have called upon thee in the day of my trouble: because thou hast heard me. There is none among the gods like unto thee, O Lord: and there is none according to thy works. All the nations thou hast made shall come and adore before thee, O Lord: and they shall glorify thy name. For thou art great and dost wonderful things: thou art God alone. Conduct me, O Lord, in thy way, and I will walk in thy truth: let my heart rejoice that it may fear thy name. I will praise thee, O Lord my God: with my whole heart, and I will glorify thy name for ever: For thy mercy is great towards me: and thou hast delivered my soul out of the lower hell. O God, the wicked are risen up against me, and the assembly of the mighty have sought my soul: and they have not set thee before their eyes. And thou, O Lord, art a God of compassion, and merciful, patient, and of much mercy, and true. O look upon me, and have mercy on me: give thy command to thy servant, and save the son of thy handmaid."

Eighth day: (Ecclesiasticus 18, 11-15) "Therefore bath he filled up his mercy in their favour, and hath shewn them the way of justice. The compassion of man is toward his neighbour: but the mercy of God is upon all flesh. He hath mercy, and teacheth, and correcteth, as a shepherd doth his hock. He hath mercy on him that receiveth the discipline of mercy, and that maketh haste in his judgments. My son, in thy good deeds, make no complaint, and when thou givest any thing, add not grief by an evil word."

Ninth day: (Job 22, 21-30) "Submit thyself then to him, and be at peace: and thereby thou shalt have the best fruits. Receive the law of his mouth, and lay up his words in thy heart. If thou wilt return to the Almighty, thou shalt be built up, and shalt put away iniquity far from thy tabernacle. He shall give for earth flint, and for flint torrents of gold. And the Almighty shall be against thy enemies, and silver shall be heaped together for thee. Then shalt thou abound in delights in the Almighty, and shalt lift up thy face to God. Thou shalt pray to him, and he will hear thee, and thou shalt pay vows. Thou shalt decree a thing, and it I shall come to thee, and light shall shine in thy ways. For he that hath been humbled, shall be in glory: and he that shall bow down his eyes, he shall be saved. The innocent shall be saved, and he shall be saved by the cleanness of his hands."

Prayer to Saint Matthew the Apostle

"Glorious Saint Matthew, you who had great humility to follow Jesus, enlighten all who feel the call of him, for your example, leave everything and follow in the footsteps of the Divine Master. You also called your publican friends to know Jesus, help us to be witnesses before our family, friends and neighbors so that we can lead those who need more to Jesus who is the way, true and life. You wrote the Gospel of the Lord, help us to write the Gospel in our lives through ou
r acts and prayers. Amen."

Eucharistic Miracle of Lanciano

In Lanciano, Italy, in the eighth century, a priest of the order of St. Basil celebrated the Mass in the Church of the Saints Degoncian and Domitian. After the Consecration, the Host became flesh and the wine in blood inside the chalice. Blood clotted in clumps, clots, just like clots of human blood. This Host transformed into flesh and blood were placed in a shrine and exposed in the church for centuries. And even today, even after 1,300 years, this flesh and blood remains intact and incorrupt! In 1970 and 1971 and again in 1981, this piece of meat and the clots were rigorously analyzed by Professor Odoardo Linoli, Teacher of Anatomy and Pathological Histology and Chemistry and Clinical Microscopy and Teacher Ruggero Bertelli of the University of Siena. Results:

1) The host is actually composed of striated muscle fibers belonging to the myocardium of a human heart.

2) The blood is genuine human blood. The characteristics of the blood are as if withdrawn at that very moment, from a human being still alive! And still: the blood contained in the flesh and the blood of the chalice reveal to be always the same blood group 'AB' (blood most common to the Jews). This is also the group that Professor Pierluigi Baima Bollone, of the University of Turin, identified on the Holy Shroud.

3) Despite its antiquity, the flesh and blood have a intact structure and show no sign of substantial change, despite the action of the most varied physical, atmospheric, environmental and biological agents in the church in which they were preserved.

4) The five clots have different sizes, but they have the same weight: 16.505g. But when they were weighed together, the same weight appeared on the scale: 16.505g! And the same happened when only two or three of them were weighed: the weight was always the same! This is an inexplicable fact that happened to these blood clots in all the precision scales where they were weighed.

Prayer God is my Father

“My Father in Heaven, how sweet it is to know that You are my Father and that I am Your Child!
Especially when the skies of my soul are cloudy and my cross weighs more heavily, I feel the need to repeat to You:
Father, I believe in Your love for me!
Yes, I believe that You are a Father to me at every moment of my life, and that I am Your child!
I believe that You love me with an infinite love!
I believe that You are watching over me night and day and that not a hair falls from my head without your permission!
I believe that, in Your infinite Wisdom, You know better than I what is good for me.
I believe that, in Your infinite power, You can bring good even out of evil.
I believe that, in Your infinite goodness, You make everything to the advantage of those who love You. Even under the hands of those who strike me I kiss Your hand which heals!
I believe, but increase in me Faith, Hope and Love!
Teach me always to see Your love as my guide in every event of my life.
Teach me to surrender myself to You like a baby in its mother's arms.
Father, You know everything. You see everything, You know me better than I know myself. You can do everything, and You love me!
My Father, since it is Your wish that we should always turn to You, I come with confidence to ask You, together with Jesus and Mary... (here request the favor that you desire).
For this intention, and uniting myself to their Most Sacred Hearts, I offer You all my prayers, my sacrifices and mortifications, all my actions, and greater faithfulness to my duties.
Give me the light, the grace and the power of the Holy Spirit!
Strengthen me in this Spirit, that I may never lose Him, never sadden Him and never allow Him to become weaker in me.
My Father, I ask this in the name of Jesus, Your Son!
And You, Jesus, open Your Heart and place in it my own, and, together with Mary's, offer it to our Divine Father!
Obtain for me the grace that I need!
Divine Father, call all men to Yourself.
Let all the world proclaim Your Fatherly Goodness and Your Divine Mercy!
Be a tender Father to me and protect me wherever I am, like the apple of Your eye. Make me always a worthy son/daughter. Have mercy on me!
Divine Father, sweet hope of our souls, may You be known, honored and loved by all men!
Divine Father, infinite goodness poured out on all peoples, may You be known, honored and loved by all men!
Divine Father, beneficent dew of Humanity, may You be known, honored and loved by all men!”

Apparitions of Our Lady in Wisconsin

The apparitions of Our Lady in Wisconsin were approved by Catholic Church. In the year of 1859, Our Lady appeared to sister Adele Brise (28 years old) in Champion, Wisconsin, United States of America. She received the title of Our Lady of God Help. Adele Brise was born in Belgium in 1831. Together with her parents, she immigrated to Wisconsin in 1855.

First apparition, October 8, 1859: Adele was going to the mill about six miles from Champion with a sack of wheat on her head. When Adele got close to the place, she saw a lady in white standing between two trees. She was beautiful, gorgeous, blue eyes, white dress with graceful folds, a yellow stripe around her waist. She had a crown of stars around her head. Her long hair was blond and wavy. Adele was scared and stood still. The vision faded slowly and left a white cloud behind her. Adele returned home and did not see anything else.

Second apparition, October 9, 1859: The following Sunday, Adele went to Mass with her sister Isabel and her friend Vander Niessen. In the same place, near the trees, the same lady appeared again and stood still. The other two women saw nothing and the beautiful lady disappeared. They thought she might be a poor soul in Purgatory who needed prayers. After Mass, Adele confessed and told Father William Verhoef about the beautiful lady. He commanded her not to fear and to ask the lady in the name of God who she was and what she wanted from her.

Third apparition, October 9, 1859: Adele returned to the place and saw again the lady dressed in white. Adele fell to her knees and asked:
- In God’s name, who are you and what do you want of me?
- I am the Queen of Heaven, who prays for the conversion of sinners, and I wish you to do the same. You received Holy Communion this morning, and that is well. But you must do more. Make a general Confession, and offer Communion for the conversion of sinners. If they do not convert and do penance, my Son will be obliged to punish them.
Adele said to them:
- Kneel you, the Lady is the Queen of Heaven.
Our Blessed Lady looked kindly at them and said:
- Blessed are they that believe without seeing. What are you doing here in idleness while your companions are working in the vineyard of my Son?
- What more can I do, dear Lady?
- Gather the children in this wild country and teach them what they should know for salvation.
- But how shall I teach them who know so little myself?
- Teach them their Catechism, how to sign themselves with the sign of the Cross, and how to approach the Sacraments. That is what I wish you to do. Go and fear nothing. I will help you.
And Our Lady disappeared.

Sister Adèle devoted her entire life to the mission that Our Lady gave her and spread the message everywhere. A testemuha wrote about her: “With patience and ardor without fail, she persevered in her mission, going from house to house, and helping without being asked to do any work that could be done in the house and also asking only for permission to give catechism lessons to the children.” She died in fame of sanctity on July 5, 1896.

That thy expiation and thy blessing may be perfected

"Offer to the Lord the gift of thy shoulders, and the sacrifice of sanctification, and the firstfruits of the holy things: A gift hath grace in the sight of all the living. Don’t restrain grace from the dead. And stretch out thy hand to the poor, that thy expiation and thy blessing may be perfected. Be not wanting in comforting them that weep, and walk with them that mourn. Be not slow to visit the sick: for by these things thou shalt be confirmed in love. In all thy works remember thy last end, and thou shalt never sin."

(Ecclesiasticus, 7, 36-40)

To prepare unto the Lord a perfect people

"And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elias; that he may turn the hearts of the fathers unto the children, and the incredulous to the wisdom of the just, to prepare unto the Lord a perfect people."

(Luke, 1, 17)

Apparition of Our Lady in Pontmain

Our Lady appeared in Pontmain, France, on January 17, 1871 to Eugene Barbedette (12 years), her brother Joseph Barbedette (11 years) and Françoise Richer (10 years) and Jeanne Marie Lebosse (9 years). France was at risk of being invaded by the Prussians. The only solution for the people was to pray so that God would protect them. Pontmain had approximately 300 inhabitants in 1871. On January 17, Eugene and Joseph helped their father in the barn. It was almost 18 hours. Eugene went out to see the time. The sky was starry. At that moment Eugene saw, in the sky, above the house of Augustin Guidecoq, a beautiful Lady who hovered in the air. The apparition had five stages reported by the children to follow.

First phase: The children said, "She has a blue dress with golden stars, blue slippers, a golden crown with a red ribbon around and a black veil. She looked 18 years old and smiled with infinite tenderness. " The beautiful Lady smiled at him, who told them all. Joseph arrives and also sees the Lady. "Maybe it's the Virgin Mary," said Victoire, his mother. Victoire called Sister Vitaline. She did not see anything, but called the girls Françoise Richer and Jeanne-Marie, two young pensioners. The girls arrived and immediately saw Our Lady and knelt with Eugene and Joseph. Sister Marie-Eduarda called the parish priest. The villagers rushed to the barn and began to pray with the children as they watched the apparition.

Second stage: The parish priest arrived among his parishioners. He said, "Let's pray." Sister Marie-Eduarda began to pray the Rosary. The crowd began the Magnificat. Then Joseph Babin returned from Ernée's market and said, "You are right to pray. The Prussians came to Laval." At the parish's invitation the villagers sang the Litany of the Virgin Mary. They sang 'Inviolata', and also 'The Mater alma Christi carissima'. Then they sang the 'Hail Queen'. The crowd prayed fervently, in silence. At that moment, a blue oval with four dull candles appeared around the beautiful Lady. In addition, a small red cross was seen in her dress on her chest. The beautiful Lady became sad. A few minutes later she smiled again. When the prayers became more fervent, Our Lady grew slowly. The oval also grew and the stars multiplied. A large white flag unfolded under the feet of the beautiful Lady and then a word appeared by letter "BUT". At that time, the word "PRAY" was written on the flag and then in two other words "MY CHILDREN". Other words appeared, forming a phrase: "GOD WILL SOON GRANT YOUR REQUEST. MY SON ALLOWS HIMSELF TO BE MOVED."

Third stage: The villagers sang the anthem: "Mother of Hope, your name is so sweet, protect our France. Pray, pray for us." The children said, "Oh, how lovely she is." So they sang a song they had sung at school in the afternoon. The Virgin Mary raised her hands at the level of her shoulders and moved her fingers during the song as if she were a choirmaster. Our Lady was smiling. The banner with the message has disappeared at this time.

Fourth phase: The people sang "Parce Domine" and the children said, "Look, it is becoming sad again." A red Crucifix with the name 'Jesus Christ' written on a white band appeared in front of it. A small star came and lit the four candles within the oval, just as the priest did in the church on the altar of the Holy Virgin. The star stops above the head of the Virgin.

Fifth phase: Sister Marie-Eduarda began the hymn "Ave Maris Stella". "My dear friends," said the parish priest, "we will all say the evening prayer together." Everyone knelt where they were. When they reached the "Examination of Consciousness," the red Crucifix disappeared. Two small white crosses appeared, one on each shoulder of the Blessed Virgin. She smiled again at the children. A great white veil appeared at the feet of the Virgin. The veil rose slowly in front of her and covered her slowly. Reached the face, then the crown." Do you still see anything?" Father Guerin asked. "No, Father, it's all over." It was almost nine o'clock at night. Everyone went home. Minds were at rest and all fear was gone.
